Web Design for Orthodontics

Web Design for UK Orthodontists

A UK orthodontic website has three jobs: show that the orthodontist is on the GDC specialist list, state what fixed braces and aligners cost privately, and let a parent book a consultation on a phone in under a minute. We build all three.

For practices owned by a GDC-listed specialist orthodontist that want a website built around the private consultation, with fees, credentials and booking on the page.

What a UK orthodontic website has to do

Context from how your customers search, compare and book.

The first question is who you are. A specialist profile that states your place on the GDC specialist list in orthodontics, your GDC number and your training answers it, and explains without naming anyone why a specialist orthodontist differs from a dentist offering aligners. The GDC's guidance also requires the registration number and practice details to be shown, so the site carries them plainly.

The second question is cost. A private fee page that states your fixed brace and aligner fees, what the consultation includes and how monthly payments work keeps people on your site. Under the CAP Code a significant proportion of patients must actually be treated at any from price, so the page uses your real figures and notes that a final quote follows the consultation. Practices with an NHS contract get a plain eligibility page as well.

The third question is how to book. Online booking that opens first time, a phone number that is a tap target and a short form that asks for the treatment and the patient's age should be within reach on every page. Parents research in the evening on a phone.

Imagery and claims are where sites go wrong. Patient images need written consent and must not imply typical results. Reviews must be genuine and unincentivised. Nothing promises a result or a time frame, and nothing borrows the tone of remote aligner advertising.

1

Consultation path and content plan

We map how a parent or adult moves from a search to a booked consultation, list the pages needed for fixed braces, aligners, early and adult treatment, fees, NHS eligibility where relevant and each practice, and agree the GDC wording with the orthodontist.

Design around the consultation

Every page keeps the booking button, phone number and form within reach on a phone. The design shows the team and premises honestly and leaves room for the fee page to be read.

Speed and phone-first layout

Compressed images, minimal scripts and a layout designed on a phone first, so the fee page loads quickly and the booking button is always a thumb away.

Booking and tracking

Booking clicks, calls and form submissions are tagged by page so you know which page produced each consultation. Where your practice software records consultations attended, those can be linked.

Structured data and accessibility

Structured data for a dental practice with the orthodontist specialty, GDC number and each practice, headings and contrast that meet accessibility guidelines, and forms that work with a screen reader.

What to expect from a website build in the UK

A practice site built around the consultation typically takes six to ten weeks, mostly writing and review rather than code.

Weeks 1 to 2

Consultation path, page list and GDC wording are agreed. We gather fees, team photos, consent records for any patient images and existing reviews.

Weeks 3 to 6

Pages are written and designed, the orthodontist reviews them for clinical and credential accuracy, and the build begins with tracking in place.

Weeks 7 to 10

Testing on phones, compliance check of images and reviews, redirects and launch. You receive the site in your name with a guide for routine updates.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should the site show private fees? expand_more
Yes. Cost is the first question, and a page that states your fixed brace and aligner fees, what the consultation includes and how monthly payments work keeps people from leaving. Under the CAP Code a significant proportion of patients must actually be treated at any from price.
Can we show before-and-after photos? expand_more
With written consent and within the GDC's guidance, yes, with wording that does not present one case as typical. We also build strong pages without them.
How do you write the specialist profile? expand_more
With your place on the GDC specialist list, your GDC number and your training, and a plain explanation of what a specialist orthodontist is. The orthodontist approves the page and the title is never used for anyone not on the list.
Do we need online booking? expand_more
We recommend it. Parents research in the evening and a booking tool that opens first time captures consultations the phone would miss. If you prefer calls, the number is a tap target on every page and we track it.
Can the site explain NHS and private together? expand_more
Yes, on separate pages. The NHS page explains eligibility plainly without promising a place, and the private page states fees, so a parent knows the next step either way.
Will the site be easy to update? expand_more
Yes. Fees, hours, team photos and practice details are editable without a developer, and we hand over a short guide. The site stays in your name.
How long does an orthodontic website take? expand_more
Six to ten weeks for most practices. Writing, GDC wording review and gathering consent records take longer than the build.
