New flats change what a plumber does.
A leak or fault in the first year after key collection is normally reported through HDB's defects process, so the plumber's work is what the owner adds: water heaters, sink and basin fittings, bidet sprays, washing machine points and filters.
All regulated water service and sanitary plumbing works must be done by a PUB licensed plumber (PUB is Singapore's national water agency), even for a fitting that feels minor, and larger renovation works in HDB flats can need HDB's approval.
Older Punggol estates produce the usual dripping taps, choked outlets and ceiling leaks, and nearby condominiums have their own management rules. Many owners here are setting up their first home and do not yet have a plumber they trust.
