Punggol is a young town. Many households are couples and families in their first flat, often a BTO (a new flat bought from HDB, the public housing board, before it is built). The first rush comes at key collection.
Renovation leaves dust, glue and paint marks, and owners want them gone before moving in. Regular cleans follow for busy households, and Chinese New Year brings a burst of spring cleaning. Tenants and landlords add end of tenancy work as flats change hands.
There is also a commercial side: shops at Waterway Point and Oasis Terraces, preschools and enrichment centres, and the campus and offices growing around the Singapore Institute of Technology. The LRT loops link the estates, but crews still plan by block.
